Tactical & Firearms Training for the Law Enforcement and Civilian Community

Advanced Tactics & Firearms, LLC provides tactical and firearms training for the law enforcement and civilian community, as well as risk management and operational planning consulting on all tactical and firearms matters. All instructors are experienced, real-world operators with law enforcement (SWAT) and military (Special Ops) backgrounds.

The company was established in 2011 by JIM MARKOWSKI, a retired ATF Special Agent of 33 years with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF). During this time he served as the Division Tactical Advisor - Boston Field Division and a member of ATF's Special Response Team (SRT) for 15 years. His distinguished ATF career consists of numerous real world "street agent" experiences including extensive undercover operations, SRT operator and Entry Team Leader missions, and tactical and firearms training for SRT members, street agents, and task force officers. He has served as an advisor on high-risk enforcement operations where his responsibilities included tactical supervision, contingency planning, and risk management. He has trained federal, state, and local law enforcement officers across the US and internationally in both firearms and tactics.

Subsequent to retiring from ATF, Jim served OCONUS as a member of the instructor cadre of tactical/firearms instructors contracted by the US Departments of Defense and State, to train the newly formed Iraqi National Police SWAT teams. After returning from the Middle East, he served as the Security Manager at Colt Defense, LLC and then as Director of Law Enforcement Sales & Training, where he served as the lead firearms and tactical trainer for the company. Jim eventually left Colt Defense to devote his full-time efforts to Advanced Tactics & Firearms, LLC.

Jim also serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Criminal Justice at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. He has developed an original graduate-level course, "Operational Planning for Law Enforcement", covering topics such as arrests, search warrants, undercover, surveillance, and multi-agency enforcement operations, as well as the legal and constitutional issues involved.
